A huge thank you to our wonderful Scholarship Committee members: Katie Holm, Kim Fleming, Debby Rehn, Bill Muirheid, Peter Korst, and Jenny Madison! After a short absence, we brought back our scholarship opportunity this year and successfully raised our goal of $1,500.
We are thrilled to announce that Ellena Berhe is our 2026 Scholarship recipient! While attending Overland High School, Ms. Berhe was incredibly involved—participating in soccer, cross-country, wrestling, the Technology Student Association, FCCLA, STEMblazers, and the National Honor Society.
Ellena chose UIUC because she knows it will challenge her to become the engineer she hopes to be. Ever since discovering her passion for protecting the environment, she has wanted to find ways to make a real difference. UIUC's strong environmental engineering program, hands-on learning, and commitment to innovation make it the perfect place for her to turn that passion into action. She believes the knowledge, experiences, and connections she builds at UIUC will help create sustainable solutions and a positive impact for future generations.
