Join us on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 10 AM for an architectural tour of a portion of downtown Denver.

The tour will highlight the important contributions of alumni from the University of Illinois Architecture program as well as learn about the interesting architectural history of Denver. We will examine buildings by legendary U of I architects the like of Temple Buell, William Muchow, Larry Friedberg, and current sensation, Jeanne Gang.

Dennis Humphries, BS Architecture 73, MS Architecture 79, will be our tour guide.

Dennis has been practicing in Denver with his business partner Joe Poli, also a U of I graduate, since 1984 and was responsible for the creation of two editions of the Guide to Denver Architecture. We will start the tour at 10 AM in the plaza outside the entrance to the Denver Art Museum, south of 13 th Avenue. Parking is readily available on the street at meters or in the adjacent Civic Center Cultural Complex parking garage. Dress for a walk of about 2 hours in comfortable shoes with water and preparation for a lot of sun.

We will finish the tour with an optional lunch at Cap City Tavern on Bannock Street between West 12th Avenue and 13th Avenue.
